Dr. Myriam Girgis is a female Obstetrician, Gynaecologist with experience in advanced lapropscopy, that takes the time to listen, to offer up-to-date and evidence-based treatment options, and to provide clear communication and advice to patients and their families. She strives to deliver excellent care, empower women to make informed decisions, and to tailor her care to the individual woman’s needs.

Dr. Girgis is pleased to offer management of a range of gynaecological conditions with a combination of medical and minimally invasive surgical techniques, including laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery. This includes laparoscopic hysterectomy, removal of ovarian cysts, myomectomy and endometriosis surgery, and operative hysteroscopy for endometrial ablation, fibroid resection and polyp removal. She is also proficient in open and vaginal surgery.

Dr. Girgis also offers management of uncomplicated and high-risk pregnancies, pre-conception counselling & postnatal care.

Dr. Girgis is a postgraduate Fellow in Complex and Advanced Laparoscopic Gynaecological Surgery as part of the Australasian Gynaecological Endoscopy and Surgery (AGES) Society. She has extensive experience in minimally Invasive Gynaecology, having worked as a Urogynaecology and Laparoscopic Fellow at St Vincent’s Hospital, and as Gynaecology Fellow at the Sydney West Advanced Pelvic Surgery (SWAPS) unit.

She graduated with First Class Honours from the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery. She has continued devotion to self-education, having completed the Master of Surgery (Advanced Gynaecological Surgery) at UWS and the Master of Women’s Health Medicine at UNSW. She regularly presents at national and local conferences and has been the author of papers published in peer-reviewed publications.

Dr. Girgis loves to teach. She is a clinical educator and mentor of specialist juniors and medical students. She coordinates laparoscopic training sessions and Minimally Invasive Surgery workshops, specialist interview training, and RANZCOG practice examinations.
