St George Private Hospital History
An amalgamation of Pacific Private, Bexley Private and Kogarah Private Hospitals, St George Private Hospital opened on the 1 November 1995. Co-located with the UNSW affiliated teaching hospital, St George Hospital, the campus offers a strong community focus in the St George, Hurstville, Rockdale and Sutherland Shires.
SGPH has become one of South Sydney's largest and most comprehensive private facilities boasting multiple operating theatres, a 10 bed ICU, 8 bed Coronary Care Unit, Cardiac Catheter Lab, 3 procedure rooms, a dedicated Oncology Ward, Obstetric Unit and a 20 bed Day surgery as well as a wide range of diagnostic and support services including a Level 2 Special Care Nursery.
The hospital serves approximately 35,000 patients each year, and continues to look to the future planning its growth and development to ensure it remains a market leader.
