New health gateway installed at St George Private Hospital

Patients at St George Private Hospital will have better access to specialist appointments with the installation of a new linking bridge.

The new 75 metre bridge has been installed over South Street between the private hospital and the new St George Specialist Centre.

Construction of the bridge took 36 consecutive hours, using 45 tonnes of steel, equal to approximately 35 medium sized cars. To see the installation of the bridge please click the following link https://youtu.be/_tUdN06rfXo

The installation of the bridge is part of a larger project worth $25 million, which includes the construction of a new six level specialist centre and a multi-deck carpark, with an additional 92 car spaces.

There are 34 consulting suites available in the new specialty centre, which have already attracted a strong orthopaedic surgeon presence, a neurosurgeon and a bariatric surgeon.

The landmark building was constructed to expand health services in the region and reinforce Kogarah’s reputation as a key health and educational precinct.
