Dr. Sarah Choi is a gynaecologist with special interests in pelvic surgery and endoscopic (laparoscopic) treatments.
Her areas of expertise include endometriosis, difficult hysterectomy, laparoscopic removal of pelvic masses/cysts and uterine fibroids, in addition to operative hysteroscopy, menorrhagia treatments and management of abnormal Pap smears.
Dr. Choi is the first gynaecologist who has completed a structured fellowship of the Australian Gynaecological Endoscopic Society at the reputable Sydney Women's Endosurgery centre. In 2016, she was awarded a scholarship to complete advanced training in Endometriosis Surgery at the International School of Surgical Anatomy in Italy, one of the largest endometriosis centre in Europe.
Appointed as a consultant at St. George Hospital, she performs surgical procedures at St. George Public and Private Hospitals. Prior to this, she co-founded the Complex Pelvic Surgery Unit at Liverpool Hospital, leading multi-disciplinary treatment for complex surgical conditions. She obtained her medical degree with Dean's list Honours at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and was one of the major surgeons at the Gynae-endoscopy Unit of Hong Kong Prince of Wales Hospital.
As part of the academic faculty of Sydney Women's Endosurgery Centre, she has extensively presented and lectured on surgical techniques in Australia, Hong Kong and China. She has been awarded Best Free Communication and Best Surgical Video in national and international congresses.
