Dr Maher is a Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist with an interest in advanced liver disease & cirrhosis, gastrointestinal endoscopy & colonoscopy, and irritable/inflammatory bowel conditions. Dr Maher graduated from the University of Sydney Medical School and completed his specialist training at St George and Sutherland Hospitals. He subsequently undertook a Fellowship in liver failure & liver transplantation at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. He is currently conducting his PhD on the interplay between diet’s effect on the gut microbiome and the development/progression of liver disease at the University of New Wales.
