Dr Leah Gellert is a female consultant Gastroenterologist based in Sydney’s East and South Eastern Suburbs. Dr Gellert is part of South Eastern Gastroenterology and consults from rooms in Bondi Junction and Kogarah.
Dr Gellert completed her undergraduate training with First Class Honours from the University of NSW and then completed a Masters of Medicine by Research from The University of Sydney. Dr Gellert has also undertaken advanced research with the Bowel Cancer & Digestive Research Institute Australia on identifying key factors for improving bowel cancer screening, especially for families at higher risk.
Dr Gellert has a particular interest in the prevention and early detection of bowel cancer as well as in hepatology. She also offers practical advice and management of common gastroenterological complaints such as abdominal pain, rectal bleeding, constipation, diarrhoea and Irritable Bowel Syndrome.
