Dr Michael Reyes is a Sydney based Endocrinologist passionate about delivering high quality, equitable, and evidence-based medical care to his patients.
He has clinical expertise in managing diabetes, pregnancy-related endocrine disorders, metabolic syndrome and obesity, thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal disorders as well as polycystic ovarian syndrome.
Dr Reyes helped establish the first Endocrine Transplant Clinic at St Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney and was involved in creating protocols for screening diabetes and osteoporosis in heart and lung transplant patients. He is part of the Pre-gestational and Gestational Diabetes Clinics at St George Hospital and runs the Transition and Young Adult Diabetes Service (TrYADS), bridging the care of late adolescents and young adults with diabetes.
He completed his Bachelor of Science and medical degree at the Pontifical and Royal University of Santo Tomas in Manila. He spent most of his career as a junior medical officer at St Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney. He undertook Specialty training in Endocrinology at St. Vincent’s Hospital, The Garvan Institute of Medical Research, and St George Hospital, Kogarah. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.
Dr Reyes is a Staff Specialist in the Department of Endocrinology, St George Hospital. He is a Conjoint Associate Lecturer at the University of New South Wales. He regularly attends national and international meetings and is an active member of the Endocrine Society of Australia, Australian Diabetes Society, Australia and New Zealand Bone and Mineral Society, US Endocrine Society and Australian Medical Association.
