Prof O'Connor is a practising generalist obstetrician and gynaecologist with a research background in perinatology-high risk obstetrics.. He is currently Professor and Head of Discipline in Western Sydney University. He has qualifications in child health,ultrasound, colpocopy and urodynamics as well as Health Law and Forensic Medicine. He practises as an expert witness in medical negligence cases as well as criminal matters such as sexual assault and childhood sexual abuse. His teaching interests include training undergraduates in the management of sexual assault and domestic violence.
