Tracey Burton on the BOARD of New Medical Research Foundation

St George Private Hospital CEO Tracey Burton has been appointed to the Board of a newly established charity, the St George Medical Research Foundation – which will raise funds to support medical research in the St George area.
The Foundation was launched aptly on St Georges Day, 23 April 2008 at St George Leagues Club with 300 guests from the local community fellow Board Members and representatives from other business and community organisations in the St George area.
Tracey Burton said that it’s a privilege to be involved with the Foundation at this important and exciting beginning of organisation. “The St George Medical Research Foundation has enormous potential for success for supporting the medical and research community in this area. The benefits for the wider community are incalculable.”
About the St George Medical Research Foundation
The St George Medical Research Foundation hopes to attract both public and private funding in the coming years to further the research work undertaken by the researchers at St George Hospital.
This research spans many areas – including intensive care, complications in pregnancy, skin diseases, bone disease, blood diseases, and palliative care In addition, the Foundation will focus on research into specific diseases that effect many local residents including arthritis, childhood diabetes, asthma, prostate cancer, liver cancer, women’s health and leukaemia.
The Chief Executive Officer of the new Medical Research Foundation, David Tipler, said “The establishment of the Foundation is a wonderful achievement and for the St George and Sutherland areas.
