After Birth Support

Special Care Nursery

The Special Care Nursery is a level 2 nursery providing any extra care and support that may be required in the event of a baby being born prematurely or who is unwell. If required transfer to a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit can be organised without delay.

Please note, people who have only a 'single' level of cover will not receive Health Fund benefits if your baby is admitted to Special Care Nursery. You are advised to contact your Health Fund at least 4 months before your due date for more information and to ensure you have appropriate cover.

SRC Recovery Shorts

SRC Recovery Shorts assist in speeding up recovery after pregnancy by addressing the 3 most common conditions post birth:

  1. Abdominal Muscle Separation
  2. C-Section stitches and perineal trauma
  3. Low Back Pain

One of our onsite physiotherapists will measure you for the shorts whilst you are in the hospital to assist you in getting the correct size. SRC Recovery Shorts are available for purchase at our onsite Pharmacy 24/7.

Education classes on the ward

Whilst you are with us, education classes will be available for you to attend. Classes include settling and going home with your baby, breastfeeding, physiotherapy tips and bathing your baby. Partners are always welcomed and encouraged to attend with you.
