Having a baby is one of the most important events in your life and every birth is unique.

Our Maternity Unit comprises :

Birth Suite

The Birth Suite has 6 modern birthing rooms, each with large ensuite including bath and shower facilities. All our birthing rooms have remote baby monitoring technology.

Maternity ward

St George Private is pleased to offer all of our maternity patients the guarantee of a private room. Each room has a custom designed breastfeeding chair, flat screen TV, in room safe and fridge. Following the birth partners may also stay overnight, some conditions apply and this does incur a small charge, not covered by your health fund.

Respite Nursery

A respite nursery is available to provide mothers with “time out” overnight if required. There is a limit on the number of babies in the nursery at any one time and it is expected that the babies will return to their mother for feeding.

Special Care Nursery

The Special Care Nursery is a level 2 nursery providing any extra care and support that may be required in the event of a baby being born prematurely or who is unwell. If required transfer to a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit can be organised without delay.

The Lounge

The lounge provides spectacular views of Botany Bay and offers parents and visitors a quiet place to relax.

Daily education sessions on Breastfeeding and settling your baby are held here.
